Meet Igor, a gentle giant with a heart as big as his pawprints....

This sweetheart was found on Christmas Day, trembling on the median next to a busy highway, longing for safety and love.
Despite his rough start, Igor's spirit shines bright. He adores cuddles and craves affection, yearning for a family to call his own.
Igor's size may be imposing, but his intentions are pure. He's great with other dogs and older children, though he may not realize his own strength in play.
A loyal companion, Igor is a natural guardian, always on alert for any potential bumps in the night. As German Shepherds are bred for.
One of Igor's favorite pastimes is going for walks, where he struts his stuff with grace on a leash. He's mastered the art of potty training and is a joy to be around, his tail wagging with happiness at every opportunity.
Although Igor faced a battle with heartworms upon arrival at the rescue, he's a fighter who emerged victorious after proper treatment and now preventative care.
Igor's ready and eager to embark on his next chapter - a forever home filled with love, laughter, and endless belly rubs.
Are you ready to open your heart to Igor and make his dreams come true? He is waiting and will make all YOUR dreams come true too!!

Something to Consider:

  • Puppies don't train themselves

If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.

Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.

  • Puppies turn into dogs...
